EDINBURGH OR BUST DOUBLE BILL
Every year in August, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival is THE place to see stand up comedians hone their brand new solo shows in preparation for national touring. This is your opportunity to see these work-in-progress shows before the Fringe and before they go on tour.
SIMON EVANS: STARING AT THE SUN
An odd title, but those familiar with Plato will understand the reference, as will those familiar with Donald J Trump. Simon Evans hits 60 this year, and perhaps more significantly his daughter hits 21 and his son 18. He no longer needs to think of the children; his time is short and with no more shackles on his instinct, he'll give you the raw, unlubricated truth.
"A masterclass" The Scotsman
RIA LINA: RIABELLION
Following her killer debut tour, Riawakening, the wickedly funny Ria Lina returns with a riotous Work in Progress before she hits the road again in Autumn 2025. Expect a relentless stream of hilarity as Ria explores the eternal battle of the sexes, the delight in throwing life up in the air after years of following the rules, and the art of radical indifference. Much loved in the industry, this multi-award winner commands the stage with a whirlwind of energy and leaves audiences breathless with laughter.
"Fearless, provocative and very funny... wonderfully on-the-edge stuff... There isn't a comedy venue in the country that shouldn't be fighting for her" The Scotsman
