Booking Tickets

You can book online for all shows at The Comedy Box and associated events. There is no extra charge for booking online - you pay face value for all tickets. Bookings are confirmed via email. Please print off your email booking then bring along on the night of the show.

STAGS AND HENS: The Comedy Box at the Hen & Chicken is not a nightclub with a disco and therefore does not cater for stag or hen-type parties. If you are looking for an environment which permits party poppers, dedications from the stage and customer rowdiness then we would strongly advise you to look elsewhere. Although if you are looking for a night of top stand-up comedy in a civilised atmosphere then you are more than welcome. 

• To book online simply choose your show from either the All The Shows listings or from the scrollable column positioned on the right-hand side. Click on either of the See More or Book Online buttons at the foot of each listing. This will then take you to the relevant "show" page.
• Alternatively, you can select a date by using the calendar on the right-hand side. Dates highlighted in red indicate when a show is taking place. Just click on one of these dates to see what's on.
• Select the quantity of tickets you want using the drop-down button at the top of the page. Then proceed with your purchase by clicking Book Tickets Online. Once you have entered all your details you then click on the payment link which takes you to the Paypal website (please note: you do not have to be registered with Paypal to use this service. You may use your regular credit or debit card to purchase tickets). 
• Confirmation of your purchase is made by email. It is necessary for you to bring a copy of this with you on the night (please note: if you are unable to print off your email ticket just make a note of your reference number which starts CBox-**** and can be found on your e-ticket. Please bring this number and your credit/debit card to verify that you are the purchaser).
• Online bookings can be taken up until 6pm on the night of the show unless the show has already sold out. Doors open at 7.45pm if you wish to purchase tickets on the door - subject to availability.
• Telephone bookings for events at The Comedy Box at the Hen & Chicken can be made in advance from the Colston Hall on Colston Street in Bristol’s city centre. You can either book over the phone by calling (0117) 922 3686 between 10am to 8.30pm from Monday to Saturday, or by calling in person at the box office during those hours. Tickets purchased through the Colston Hall are subject to a £1 per ticket booking fee.
• Tickets purchased through the Colston Hall can be sent out to you by post or left for collection at the venue on the night of the show. Tickets purchased over the phone less than three days before a show will be held back for collection on the night of the show. Tickets will be handed over only on production of a valid credit or debit card.
• It is not always necessary to pre-book for shows at the Hen & Chicken. There are nearly always tickets available on the door unless the artist is particularly well known, then it is advisable to pre-book.

REFUND POLICY

• We will refund your tickets in full if the advertised headliner has cancelled or is unable to appear for whatever reason. We will not offer a refund if either the compere or support act has cancelled or has been changed.
• If you have changed your mind about coming to a show we will refund tickets if we are confident we can re-sell them. This is at our discretion and is usually the situation on already sold out shows. If it is at very short notice such as on the day or the day before then we will hold on to your payment until we have successfully re-sold your returns. You will be notified by email if we have done so. Although it is always our priority to sell our remaining tickets first before we sell returns. There is a small admin charge of £2 for this service.
• If you wish to switch dates for a show we'll ask you to re-purchase your tickets for the alternative date then we'll process your refund for the original date. There is a small admin charge of £2 for this service.
